w00t! It finally bothered me enough. I sat down and dug into the MovableType LJcrosspost plugin to figure out two of my biggest issues. I've wanted to include tags from my crossposted entries since LJ started allowing tags. It was trivial to add.
Edit: Hmm, maybe I'm not done with Unicode. It seems to post just fine, but I get an error. I'll revisit this later.
